Open the map and you will see pins on the real locations around you — battlefields, ruins, listed buildings, museums, monuments, churches, gardens, true crime sites and more. Walk to one, and the story of what happened there unlocks. WHAT YOU CAN DO Explore a live map Historical sites plotted where they actually stand, not in a list. Filter the map down to the categories you care about. Unlock stories by walking Get close to a site and its story opens up. Discovery is earned on foot, not scrolled past. Listen while you walk Premium sites come with narrated audio, so you can keep your eyes on the street instead of your screen. Build your Lorebook Every site you unlock is catalogued in one place, along with the XP and badges you collected getting there. Save places and make collections Bookmark anything that catches your eye and group it into your own collections for a weekend walk. Follow the discovery feed See what other explorers are unlocking around the world, comment on their finds, and post your own. Climb the leaderboard Compete on stories unlocked in your region and worldwide, and earn map passes and perks along the way. Keep exploring offline Download a city or an area you have drawn yourself and carry on with no signal at all. MEMBERSHIP MapLore is free to explore. The map, the pins, XP, badges, achievements and your explorer profile cost nothing. Basic — ad free, the full leaderboard, and more site categories. Premium — every category, exclusive Premium pins, offline maps and narrated audio stories. Subscriptions are available monthly or annually and renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel your subscription any time in Google Play > Subscriptions. Location is used to show sites near you and to unlock a story when you arrive at one.
