About this app
You know what you have to do. You write it down. And you don't do it. It's not a lack of organization: it's too many options and no set moment to start. WakeUp fixes both: two tasks a day and an alarm that won't stop until you get going. YOUR DAY WITH WAKEUP 10:30 pm. The night alarm rings. It won't stop until you choose tomorrow's two tasks. It takes a minute and you go to bed with the day already decided. 6:40 am. The morning alarm rings. It won't stop until you solve a mission: memory, math, a photo, shaking your phone or scanning a barcode. By the time it's off, you're actually awake. There is no snooze. During the day you only see two tasks. Hit Start, the countdown begins, and everything else stays locked until you're done. With two options you don't hesitate. With thirty, you never start. Complete both and you add a day to your streak. That's it. WHAT IF I MISS A DAY? If the night comes with a task undone, your streak resets to zero. It stings, and that's why it works. But your record is always saved, and after 30 days in a row you earn a shield that saves you on a bad day. The net is there to catch you, not to live in. WHAT WAKEUP DOESN'T DO It won't let you add forty tasks for today. It won't send you motivational quotes. It has no snooze button. It doesn't ask for willpower: the alarm makes you open it. WHAT IT DOES HAVE Kanban and calendar to keep everything else and give it a date. The long list doesn't go away; it just stops getting in the way. Missions to stop the alarm. A countdown per task. Streaks, shields and badges. Sleep stats. WHY IT WORKS Deciding tonight what you'll do tomorrow multiplies the odds you'll do it (Gollwitzer, 1999). The fewer the options, the more you act (Iyengar & Lepper, 2000). Writing down pending tasks before bed helps you fall asleep faster (Scullin, 2018). Losing hurts more than winning feels good, which is why a streak moves you more than any reward (Kahneman & Tversky, 1979). WHO IT'S FOR For people who set three alarms and dismiss them all. For people whose list is full and never opened. For people who perform under pressure and freeze without it. If you've tried fourteen productivity apps and none lasted a week, it's not you: they were built for a different brain. Plan at night. Wake up with the mission. Do two things. Repeat.
