About this app
Span lays your life out as a corridor. You stand in the nave of a quiet gothic cathedral, light falling through stained glass, or of a roofless abbey ruin under the moon. Each memory stands by its date: a candle stand in the cathedral, a carved stone stele in the abbey. Recent years are close by. The past recedes into the haze ahead, and you walk toward it. WHERE MEMORIES COME FROM Span looks through your Photos library on the device and groups trips and days by time and place, tagging them as it goes. It also reads your Calendar for milestones such as weddings and graduations, and for trips you planned there. Nothing joins the corridor until you review it and accept it. You can add a memory yourself, too: a title, a date range, a few notes on what it meant, a cover photo, and any photos and videos you want to keep with it. RELIVE A MEMORY Select a memory and its photo opens as a large memory window, converted into a spatial scene, with the memory's other photos and videos around it. MOVE THROUGH TIME • Glide along the nave, past year markers set into the floor • Jump to a year with the year picker • Turn on auto-walk and stay seated while the corridor moves • Show only highlights, or filter by tag • Choose the cathedral or the abbey ruin, and a mood for its light • Ambient cathedral sound, with a mute button PRIVACY Everything stays on your device. There is no account to create, and Span has no analytics or tracking of any kind. To name the place where a photo was taken, it asks Apple's reverse-geocoding service. Memories are labeled for VoiceOver. Terms of Use (EULA): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/ Privacy Policy: https://drobinin.com/apps/terms/span/
