Slit shows what is taking up your Mac's storage and memory, and helps you clear what you no longer need. It lives in the notch at the top of your screen. Click it to see memory and free storage at a glance, and open Slit's settings when you want to clean up. STORAGE - See how much space is free, how much is in use and how much Slit can clear. - Clear app caches and logs. They rebuild automatically as you use your apps. - Clear Adobe caches: Camera Raw previews used by Lightroom and Photoshop, and media cache files used by Premiere Pro and After Effects. Your photos, videos and projects are never touched. - Clear caches from Chrome, Firefox, Slack and Spotify. - Find disk images and installers (.dmg, .pkg, .iso) in Downloads. - Review everything before you clean. Each item shows its size, and nothing is removed until you choose it. DUPLICATE FILES - Find exact duplicate files in Downloads, Desktop and Documents. - Review results by file or by folder, and see where every copy is. - One copy of every file is always kept. Slit keeps the copy you filed away (in Documents or on the Desktop) rather than the one in Downloads. - Extra copies go to the Trash, so you can change your mind. When you are sure, Slit can permanently delete only the files it moved there. Nothing else in your Trash is touched. MEMORY - See memory pressure, and whether your Mac is using storage to make up for full memory. - See which apps are using the most memory. - Quit idle apps in one step. Slit lists every app before it quits anything. - Review open tabs in Chrome, Safari, Brave, Edge, Arc, Vivaldi and Opera, spot duplicate tabs, and close the ones you choose. - Get a notification when memory is full, or when it has been tight for a while. Alerts are limited so they do not repeat. SCHEDULED CLEANUP Clear caches and logs automatically every week or month. Including duplicate files is optional and off by default. Slit's settings show your plan, what you paid and when it renews. GOOD TO KNOW - Slit asks you to choose your Home folder once, so it can measure and clean files there. - Quitting apps and reviewing tabs need a one-time helper setup and macOS permission for each app. - Duplicate detection finds exact matches of 100 KB or larger. Similar photos, edited versions and files stored only in iCloud are not included. - Per-app memory figures count each app's main process, so apps that run several processes may use more than shown. The yearly subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Manage or cancel it in your Apple Account settings.
