Shopper Assist shows you who is behind what you buy. Scan a barcode, photograph the front of a package, type a produce sticker code, or enter a car's VIN, and see the company that makes it, the political money it spends, what's in it, and how other shoppers rate it. WHAT YOU SEE FOR EVERY PRODUCT Political involvement. How much the maker spends to influence government: corporate PAC contributions, federal lobbying, money given to Super PACs and 527 political organizations, and state-level giving, with the party split and the sources for each number. Rated High, Moderate or Low by amount, not by party. Safety. Ingredients checked against public regulatory lists: California Proposition 65, IARC, the EU cosmetics annexes, Health Canada's Hotlist, ECHA's harmonised classifications and REACH lists, and the FDA's food-additive inventory. Plus recalls from the FDA, USDA, CPSC and NHTSA, and EPA Safer Choice certifications. Nutrition. Rated against targets you set yourself. Reviews. Ratings from other shoppers, with no account needed. FIND BETTER OPTIONS Search products or companies and filter for what matters to you: low political spending, safer ingredients, better nutrition, well reviewed, or small, veteran-, woman- or Black-owned businesses. Every result shows the maker before you open it, so choosing a different brand is one tap away. WHO TAKES THE MONEY Turn on the optional Candidates tab to see the other side of the ledger: federal candidates and the corporate PAC contributions behind them, with the companies named. MORE Photograph an ingredient list when the database has none and get it scored. Send a photo of a product that isn't recognized so we can add it. Cars: enter a VIN for the make, model, assembly plant, safety recalls and the maker's political score. Set your body weight to personalize daily-limit figures. BUILT ON PUBLIC RECORDS Every figure comes from a public source and links to it: the Federal Election Commission, Senate lobbying disclosures, the IRS, state election boards, the FDA, USDA, NHTSA, CPSC, EPA, Open Food Facts, Wikidata and others.
