About this app
Saathi is a calm companion for the walk or ride home. It is not an alarm, and not a panic button you hope you never press. You tell Saathi where you are going. It watches quietly in the background. And if something seems off, it asks you first, before it involves anyone else. How a journey works 1. Start a journey. A walk, a ride, or a simple "expect me by" arrival time. 2. Saathi watches quietly. Checks run on your device while you get on with your evening. 3. If the journey stops making sense, you get a soft "Are you okay?" on your own phone. 4. Tap "I'm okay" and it fades away. Or reach for help, and one tap opens your phone with the number ready. 5. Arrive safely, and the journey ends. What Saathi does not do - It does not dispatch help or call emergency services for you. Tapping for help opens your dialer with the number ready, and you confirm the call yourself. - It does not share your live location with your circle. Saved people are contacts, not a live pin of you. - It does not track your location in the background when you are not on a journey. Your circle Save the people you would call. A name and a number, ready when you need them. Made for ordinary evenings Walking back from the station after a late shift. A run after dark. The last stretch home from a friend's place. Travelling alone in an unfamiliar city. Plans Without a subscription: 1 person in your circle and 1 journey a day. Plus: 3 people, 3 journeys a day, a history of your last 7 journeys, and check-ins that wait longer before asking. Premium: 5 people, no daily journey limit, a history of your last 20 journeys, and check-ins that wait longer still. Plus and Premium are subscriptions billed monthly or annually through Google Play. They renew until you cancel, and you can cancel at any time from your Google Play subscriptions. Location and privacy Saathi uses your location to show your journey on the map and to notice when a journey stops making sense. Background location is used only while a journey is running, so the app can keep watching with your screen off. When the app is open, your location is also shown on your own Circle map. Saathi is not a substitute for emergency services. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
