About this app
Nineteen questions decide which words you see when you reach for a blocked app. Reva then measures how fast you dismiss each pause, per app, and tells you the day the pause stopped working on you. Most blockers stop working the same way. Your thumb learns the pause and you're through it before you've read anything, and you usually decide you're the broken one. Reva is built to catch the day that happens and make the next one heavier. Same answers always give the same result. The scoring reads no clock and no random number. HOW IT WORKS Nineteen questions, about five minutes. Your answers route you to one of eight sets of interruption text. When you reach for a blocked app, Reva holds for about eight seconds and then the screen goes dark. There's a way out. It's a small text link, not a button, and taking it opens the app for fifteen minutes before the block returns on its own. Five levels, in order: a pause, a pause you type into, a pause showing what you said you'd rather be doing, a pause someone you chose is told about, and a scheduled block. The last one is the exception to the way out, because a schedule you set for yourself doesn't need a back door. You can set a level yourself for any app you've blocked. What you don't control is when Reva raises it. That happens only when its own measurements say the level you're on stopped working, for that app, with a correction for the fact that everyone gets faster at any screen they see forty times a day. You choose what's blocked and you can unblock it, lower a level, or delete everything Reva holds, at any time. EVIDENCE Every step of the protocol carries an A, B or C evidence grade. Thirteen of the fourteen link to a paper you can open and check. The fourteenth carries no citation because there isn't one, and it's graded accordingly. WHAT REVA WILL NOT DO No streaks. No "time reclaimed". No brain training. No dopamine resets. No notifications trying to pull you back in. Reva never learns how long you spend in any app. iOS doesn't hand that over unless an app asks for it, and Reva never asked. What it sees is that you reached for something, and how quickly you dismissed the pause. One morning check-in, at a time you set, off until you turn it on. That is the only notification Reva can send, and there is no code path for a second one. WHAT'S FREE Block as many apps, categories and websites as you want. Levels one and two, and seventy-two hours at level three. The questions and your result. The first three steps of your protocol. Your first full weekly reading. Exporting or deleting everything. Some people finish the questions and are told their answers don't look like a control problem. Nothing is recommended and nothing is offered on that screen. One person you choose can see one number a day. Not your apps, not your times. WHAT'S PAID Levels three to five after the free seventy-two hours, scheduled blocking, protocol steps beyond the third, and weekly readings in full after the first. Available as an annual subscription with a free trial, or monthly with a free trial. Reva asks you to buy at most twice, ever. WEEKLY READING Once a week, one observation from your own interruption data, but only if it clears a stated statistical floor. Weeks where nothing clears it say so, and show which comparisons were run.
